The wait for new music from The Used is over. Head to KROQ.com now to hear the first single “I Come Alive” off the upcoming album Vulnerable out March 27th via their own label Anger Music Group partnered with Hopeless Records. The debut single will be available for purchase January 17th on itunes.

With over 3 Million albums sold worldwide, the band continues to create music that they stand behind 100%. “”I Come Alive” was the first song completed once we began writing this album. It sets up the record really well and I like how diverse and theatrical it is”, says front man Bert McCracken.

The band chose to go back in the studio with Jon Feldman who had accompanied them on 2007’s Lies for the Liars, 2004’s In Love And Death, 2003’s Maybe Memories and their first self-titled album from 2002. Bassist Jeph Howard said working with Feldman on this album “was very positive. We really went out and expanded on this album. I’m excited for it to be more then a typical Used record.”

Full track listing and cover art will be released later this month.

The band will be performing at Soundwave Festival in Australia next month. For dates and more information on The Used, check out: www.TheUsed.net

our new record Vulnerable. We can’t wait for you to hear it! Love, The Used”

The final touches are being made to the album which will be released in the Spring of 2012. Vulnerable will be the bands 5th studio album.

Already chosen as one of Alternative Press Magazine’s Most Anticipated of 2012, front man Bert McCracken explains,

“Vulnerable is about taking one step back and two steps forward. The sound of the record is as evolved as it possibly could be, it maintains the same emotional integrity as the first record [2002’s The Used], yet it sounds like the future (and the future sounds bright). Vulnerable is about taking a chance to let the real you shine. This record is for the outcasts, the misfits, the misunderstood, and the ones who have always dared to be themselves. I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

A brand new song from Vulnerable will be released in January!

For more details and to read an exclusive interview with Bert head over to the Alternative Press website: http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/used_bert_mccracken_interview_hopeless

Forming in 2001 and hailing from Orem, Utah, The Used have released four studio albums: The Used, In Love And Death, Lies for the Liars and Artwork. Their self-titled debut, In Love And Death and Lies for the Liars have all been certified Gold by the RIAA. The band has performed on the Vans Warped Tour, Taste Of Chaos, Ozzfest and Projekt Revolution and have toured with bands such as Atreyu, Chiodos, Box Car Racer, Three Days Grace, Glassjaw, Green Day and Andrew WK.

When Hopeless recording artists SILVERSTEIN announced the release of SHORT SONGS, the 22-track follow-up to their critically-acclaimed album RESCUE, they were still in the process of choosing which original songs they would include and which classic punk songs they would cover. With each song clocking in at 90 seconds or less, the appropriately-titled Short Songs is divided into two halves: 11 originals and 11 covers from such seminal bands as Dead Kennedys, Orchid, Gorilla Biscuits, The Promise Ring, NOFX, Green Day and more. “Just with every album we produce, we’re always thinking of the ’sides’ of a record,” explains drummer Paul Kohler. “In this example, Side A will be the originals, and Side B will be the covers. Each can be listened to as a contained unit, or you can easily play through just as on CD or in your iTunes.”

As an added “thank you” to their fans, one fan who purchases Short Songs through the pre-order that begins today will be chosen at random to receive a special care package directly from the band. The link for the pre-order is: http://hopelessrecords.com/silverstein/

Produced by Jordan Valeriote who produced Silverstein’s previous releases Rescue and the Transitions EP, the band challenged themselves by thinking of music in a different way. Instead of constructing songs in the standard “three minute plus” format, they cut each song’s time in half and told a story in a compact fashion. “We had some difficulties learning exactly how these songs were played and adapting them to our own abilities (ex. our Orchid cover “Destination: Blood”). Part of this made it a better challenge and definitely opened us up to a lot more playing styles.” The title track “Short Songs” (originally performed by The Dead Kennedys) features guest vocals from Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), Chris #2 (Anti-Flag), Scott Wade (ex-Comeback Kid), Chris Hannah (Propagandhi), Paul Rousseau (Burst & Bloom), Jimmy Stadt (Polar Bear Club), Daniel Tremblay (I Am Committing A Sin), Mike Hranica (The Devil Wears Prada), and Nick Diener (The Swellers). Liam Cormier (Cancer Bats) guests on The Swarm’s “xOn Our Kneesx”.
Riding on a crest of overwhelmingly positive press, Silverstein has had quite a groundbreaking year, kicking off with Rescue’s debut at #37on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart. The album has been lauded by the media including Alternative Press who called the album, “yet another consistently great Silverstein record,” and calling them “a band who continue to excel at their given genre, rarely deviating from its parameters but always finding new and creative ways to keep it fresh from album to album.” The Daily News chimed in, “Rescue offers what we’ve come to expect from Silverstein – a heaping helping of pop/punk punctuated by healthy doses of screamo.” UK-based Sputnik Music calls Rescue “a solid album by a group that is now becoming a very consistent band,” while Decoy Music hails it “perfect for fans of the post-hardcore genre.” The band also co-headlined this summer’s The Take Action Tour with friends Bayside, raising nearly $50,000 for this year’s beneficiary Sex, Etc.

Silverstein is Shane Told (Vocals / Guitar), Neil Boshart (Guitar), Josh Bradford (Guitar), Billy Hamilton (Bass), and Paul Koehler (Drums). Their fifth album RESCUE was released by Hopeless Records on April 26, 2011. Silverstein will be extensively touring North America and Europe in 2012.
