So you wanna intern do ya?

Yup, we do that. Our intern spots are pretty competitive and our interns often go on to working in the music business. If you are seriously interested in a career in music, you’re in the right place. Please read the below in full and make sure you meet all requirements before applying!

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be over 18 years old.

• Must be eligible to receive college credit for your internship.

• Available to work at least 2 full days a week. Ideally, our interns work about 15-20 hours a week. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Intern schedules are flexible, but your availability will need to fit into that.

• We are located in Van Nuys, CA, just outside of Los Angeles. We need you to be able to reliably commute for your internship if in-person. We can also offer select remote opportunities.

WHO YOU ARE

• You really want to do this! Our interns get a lot of perks (tickets to shows! free vinyl! being around us charming people!) but that only comes with hard work and commitment. Our ideal candidate has a passion for the Hopeless roster and mission

• You meet the requirements! Obviously you are here to learn and we will help you, but the requirements are there for a reason. For example, don’t apply to do design work if you don’t know how. Don’t apply for a marketing internship if you’re not familiar with our roster.

• You are flexible. Our interns specialize in certain departments, but your job will be to assist the team as a whole. Be up front about your strengths and abilities, but also be willing to hop in on projects that may not be in your area of expertise.
  

INTERNSHIP TERMS

• Spring Intern: January - April

• Summer Intern: May - August

• Winter Intern (or Wintern): September - December

We offer Marketing, Design, and A&R internships. If you would like to intern in another area, we are open to anything and everything.

Please note that we’re not always looking for interns each term. Feel free to apply and to keep applying until we have something open up.
